Ronald Joseph Manson

COPPERAS COVE, Texas – Ronald Joseph Manson passed away on Dec 3, 2022 at the age of 75. He was born Sept. 22, 1947, the son of Howard and Maxine Manson of Canaan.

Ron lived in Maine his whole life until three years ago, when he moved to Texas to live with his daughter. He loved being able to see his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Ron was a long time member of Ham Radio Clubs, and spent many years helping to test new enthusiasts just getting into it. His call sign is W1SSF. He enjoyed being able to make contact with people from all over the world.

He was also an avid motorcycle rider and had been a part of the United Bikers of Maine for many years.

Ron is survived by his son, Ronald D. Manson of Hollis Center, daughter, Dorothy McPherson and husband David; grandson Seth Manson, granddaughters Ariel and Kali McPherson; as well as great-grandsons Kaishon and Kaiden and great-granddaughter, Korra, all of Copperas Cove, Texas; and grandson, Dallas Manson of Yarmouth; brothers Doug, Jim and Gary Manson of Maine, sister, Jean Goodridge of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Mary R. Manson; and son Neil H. Manson.

Ron is being cremated and his daughter and family will bring him back to Maine to be placed alongside his wife next summer. There will be no funeral, just a small memorial at the time of burial.
