FRANKLIN – To quote mom: “If you know me, you already know. If you didn’t, it’s too late now!”

Ruth J. (Stinson) Torrey, 76, passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2022 at her home in Franklin,.

She was born on July 6, 1946 to Walter and Hilda (Lawry) Stinson. She had many jobs during her lifetime, but the one she was most proud of was being an EMT with the Swans Island Ambulance Service. She was Instrumental in getting the ambulance service going, and devoted many years to it.

She is survived by the love of her life, David Howes; her daughters Lorraine Stockbridge, Patricia Moody and husband Curtis, and Melanie Faulkingham; grandchildren, Dale Stockbridge Jr. and wife Crystal, Daniel Stockbridge and wife Starr, Jasmine Moody and Daniel Faulkingham; great-grandchildren, Spencer and Laura Rose, Austin, Benjamin and Spruce Stockbridge; her sister, Dorothy Barnes; her nephew, Isaac Stinson and family.

She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Stinson and her sister, Pauline Stinson; and many other special people she loved. She is now with her best friend and partner in crime, Elaine Overlock.

A family celebration will be held at a later time.
