Each year the University of Maine at Fort Kent Alumni Association recognizes a UMFK alumnus or alumna for outstanding character, professional achievement, distinguished leadership, service to UMFK, and service to the community.
Without input, the association is unable to present a deserving individual the appropriate recognition, according to a news release from Susan Tardie, university relations.
Those know someone who has demonstrated success in his or her career and/or personal life can nominate them at umfk.edu.
The deadline for submission is Tuesday, Feb. 28. The recipient of the award will be honored during the university’s annual homecoming weekend in September.
Those who would like a hard copy of the nomination form or more information can contact Susan Tardie at [email protected] or 207-834-7557.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
