Paul E. Cyr Jr.

AUGUSTA – Paul E. Cyr Jr. passed away on Feb. 10, 2023, at the age of 84. He was the son of the late Paul and Exilda Cyr.

After graduating from Cony High School in 1956, he enlisted into the United States Air Force where he served for four years traveling overseas. Upon his return to Augusta, he found work in the oil industry. He retired from Webber Energy Fuel after many years of service.

Paul and his wife Madeline enjoyed camping for most of their lives. Their camper became their summer home as they traveled all over the State of Maine. They especially loved Dolly Copp Campground in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Paul was an avid photographer and loved nothing more than to photograph his travels and his family. He was known for his quick wit and humor and always had a smile on his face.

He is survived by his wife Madeline of 60 years, a son Eric (Kelly) Cyr, daughter Michelle (David) LaBonte, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sisters Germaine Rocque and Pauline (Richard) Dube and countless extended family and friends.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023 ,at 10:30 a.m., at Saint Augustine Catholic Church. Following the service there will be a Military gravesite burial at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery on Mount Vernon Road in Augusta.
