AUGUSTA – Retired Master Sgt. William E. Eustace, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, in the Maine General Rehabilitation and Long-Term care Gray Birch. He was the loving husband of the late Irene (Call) Eustace.
He was born July 5, 1936, in Milford, Mass. He was the son of the late John and Ruth M. (Brown) Eustace. He grew up in Woonsocket, R.I. and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School class of 1954.
Bill joined the United States Air Force in 1954 and retired in 1974 as a master sergeant. He received many decorations, accommodations, and medals. The Air Force and Army good conduct medals, the Vietnam campaign medal with two Battle Stars, the outstanding unit medal, expert small arms ribbon, longevity ribbon and the Airforce NCO Academy Ribbon.
He was also a Certified Nurses Assistant and was also the Chief of Airport Maintenance at Westover Air Force Base. He was a longtime member of the American Legion
Bill is survived by his two children, Vicki and William, his two stepsons, David Brown of North Conway, N.H., and Danny Brown and his wife Donna of Willow Spring, N.C., a stepdaughter, Cindy Elliot of Eastport; four grandchildren, Irene Wade, Brad Shaw, Adam Danny Brown and Veronica Brown; also, nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his grandson, Adam Brown.
Bill’s graveside service will be at the chapel at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta on Monday, March 13, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
