We all have within ourselves the savior and the traitor. There is self-sacrifice and self-preservation. We know the fervor of the madding crowd, blinded by frenetic energy that lashes out and destroys. Nonetheless, separate the individual from the anonymous mob and we have those who weep over injustice and cruelty. Holy Week is our week. The beginning of the journey is ours. The ending is ours. We must be the change we wish to see in the world. Therefore, the journey is always difficult because it involves change. Change is painful. The Savior of the World dies for the sins of the world, one time for everyone everywhere for all time. His pain is our pain. Pain is required for rebirth and transformation. Our Existence needs transformation if we are to survive our lifestyle choices on Earth.

This Holy Week 2023 there is still the necessity for personal change. Now is the time to love our children more than we love our guns. Now is the time to love our planet more than we love our conveniences and our comforts. Planet Earth is fighting back against the infestation of pestilent humanity. This world could become uninhabitable within the next one hundred years. The time to respond is today within the lifespan of our children and grandchildren. The Savior of the World comes to seek and to save that which is lost. Our generation is lost. Our society is lost. Nations poise for an escalation of the War in Europe. Our mindset is lost, accepting the inevitability of annihilation of our existence.

Holy Week is our chance to change, to turn again from our collective darkness back to life giving light. Jesus is the light of the World. That ancient light still beckons humanity forward toward life and a future together
