Bishop Robert Deeley has announced three priest assignments.

The assignments are effective immediately, according to a news release from Dave Guthro, communications director, Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.

Monsignor Andrew Dubois has been appointed director of the Diocese of Portland’s Office of Seminarians. This appointment is in addition to his current role as pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Parish (St. John Church, Bangor; St. Mary Church, Bangor; St. Joseph Church, Brewer; St. Teresa Church, Brewer; St. Matthew Church, Hampden; and St. Gabriel Church, Winterport), in which he will continue.

Since his ordination to the priesthood, Dubois has also served at parishes in Lewiston, as vicar general and moderator of the curia for the Diocese of Portland, as vicar for priests, and as director of ongoing formation for clergy. He has also served as a member of the Presbyteral Council, the College of Consultors, and the Priests’ Personnel Board.

Father Joseph Osunde has been appointed parochial vicar of St. Paul the Apostle Parish (St. John Church, Bangor; St. Mary Church, Bangor; St. Joseph Church, Brewer; St. Teresa Church, Brewer; St. Matthew Church, Hampden; and St. Gabriel Church, Winterport).

Born in Kano, Nigeria, Osunde holds bachelor’s degrees in theology and philosophy from the Dominican Institute in Oyo State in Nigeria. For six years, he was a volunteer guest master and choir director at the St. Thomas Aquinas Priory in Ibadan, Nigeria, while visiting with and bringing holy Communion to the sick at the University Teaching Hospital.

Since his 2015 ordination to the priesthood, Osunde has served as an associate pastor and provincial promoter at Nigerian parishes. He is a member of the Dominican Order, formerly known as the Order of Preachers (O.P.).

Father Brittoraj Amalogam has been appointed parochial vicar of St. Michael Parish (St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Augusta; St. Augustine Church, Augusta; St. Joseph Church, Gardiner; Sacred Heart Church, Hallowell; St. Denis Church, Whitefield; and St. Francis Xavier Church, Winthrop).

Born in Tamil Nadu, India, Amalogam attended St. John’s Minor Seminary in Andra Pradesh, India, from 2003-05, and completed philosophical studies at St. John’s Major Seminary from 2005 to 2008. He completed his theological studies at the major seminary from 2010-2014.

Since his 2014 ordination, Amalogam has served as a parish priest and administrator at parishes in the Diocese of Coimbatore in India and as a procurator at a retreat center in Tirunelveli, India. He is a member of the Herald of Good News (HGN), a missionary society of apostolic life started in India in 1984.
