MONMOUTH — The 37th annual May Faire, a community event sponsored by Friends of Cumston Public Library, is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Cumston Hall, 796 Main St.
The event will feature a plant sale with homegrown perennials from local gardens and annuals from area greenhouses; food, including breakfast sandwiches, lobster rolls, hamburgers and hot dogs, and a bake sale hosted by the United Church of Monmouth; a book sale; children’s activities; and offerings from community groups and local artisans.
At 11 a.m. there will be a concert on the porch performed by award-winning fiddlers Owen Kennedy and Sean Heely. Feel free to bring a chair.
The event will be held rain or shine, and all activities except the book sale will be outdoors.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
