The Gardiner First Church of the Nazarene Church invites children to a free summer event, Monumental Bible Camp. The camp is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, June 19-23, at the church on outer Brunswick Avenue at 6 Nazarene Way.
A picnic and celebration is set for Sunday, June 26, according to a news release from Sharon Cook, camp director.
Monumental is a desert- and southwest-themed camp.
Children can participate in Bible-learning activities, play teamwork-building games, eat treats, sing and dance to songs, experience Bible Adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies, make creative crafts and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they can take home.
Monumental Camp is ages 3-12. Parents can register their students at gardinernazarene.org, or register at the church.
Helpers older than 13 are also invited; their volunteering hours can count towards community service requirements for their local schools.
For more information, call the church at 207-582-5107.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
