AUGUSTA —The second-seeded Hall-Dale girls tennis team swept through No. 7 Wiscasset without dropping a set Thursday in a Western Maine Class C quarterfinal.

Clio Barr, Maura Stottler and Nicole Pelletier won their singles matches while the doubles teams of Thea Sweet and Autumn St. Pierre and Addie Davis and Rose Warren won in straight sets.

Hall-Dale (12-1) will host North Yarmouth Academy or Waynflete in a semifinal match Saturday while Wiscasset finshes at 5-8.

WINTHROP 4, BOOTHBAY 1: The No. 4 Ramblers won all three singles matches en route to a Western C quarterfinal win over No. 5 Boothbay.

Emmah Spahr and Meghan Chamberlain won in straight sets in singles while Jess Ames was extended to three sets by Boothbay’s Mackenzie Colby before pulling out her match. Boothbay’s first doubles team of Angela Machon and Dana Greenleaf edged Winthrop’s Celeste Hannum and Hayley Choate 7-6 (5), 6-4, while Winthrop’s second doubles team of Corrina Colton and Sarah Spahr won in three sets.

Winthrop (10-2) travels to No. 1 St. Dominic on Saturday while Boothbay finishes at 8-4.

CLASS A GIRLS

HAMPDEN 5, CONY 0: The No. 2 Broncos ended the season for the No. 7 Rams with a sweep of singles and doubles. Hampden (11-2) advances to host No. 3 Mt. Ararat in a semifinal match Saturday while Cony finishes at 5-8.

CLASS C BOYS

HALL-DALE 5, ST. DOMINIC 0: The top-seeded Bulldogs (13-0) remained undefeated thanks to their sweep in a Western C quarterfinal. Hall-Dale will now play No. 5 Wayneflete on Saturday in the semifinals.

In singles, Joshua Peterson earned a hard-fought 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 victory at first singles, while Bryson Camp and Ryan Branscom combined to drop just a single game at No. 2 and 3 singles, respectively.

The doubles teams of Andy Peterson and Nick Cates and Jacob Young and Malcom Avore won in straight sets.

MONMOUTH 5, WISCASSET 0: The third-seeded Mustangs swept their singles matches in straight sets Tuesday in a quarterfinal match to advance to Saturday’s semifinal round when they’ll host North Yarmouth Academy.

Kasey Smith, Robert Vickerson and Ben Bolstridge won their singles matches while the doubles teams of Joe Menice and Mason Clements and Keith Anderson and Tyler Cote each won in three sets. Monmouth is 10-2 while Wiscaset finishes at 8-5.
