WMHO announces new logo, donation platform
FARMINGTON — Western Maine Homeless Outreach recently adopted a logo and has launched a donation platform. The group has been working to spread the word of the homeless shelter now operating in Farmington for just over six months. Adopting a logo and developing an Internet presence is an important step in this process, according to a WMHO press release.
In addition to providing updates on what is happening at the shelter, the site will also enable supporters to make one time or monthly donation to this cause. The fundraising goal for this fiscal year is $70,000, of which $16,000 has been raised through the support of individuals and businesses in the community. The group is poised and ready to begin grant writing upon approval of it’s 501c(3) status, expected to be finalized this summer. While the group of volunteer administrators await WMHO’s registered non-profit status, donations are a crucial part of providing services to the people of Western Maine.
