GARDINER — The Maine Downtown Center plans to hold the first in-person Maine Downtown Institute: All Things Downtown Planning since 2020.
The event is set for 8:30-11:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Life Community Church, 46 Church St.; registration is open.
The center will cover all aspects of downtown planning: Why, who, the process, implementation, and potential funding, according to a news release from the center.
Guest speakers will include Kate Burch, North Star Planning; Melissa Lindley, Gardiner’s economic development director; Tamara Whitmore, Gardiner Main Street director; Kirk Mohney, Maine Historic Preservation Commission; and Terry Ann Holden, development program manager, Office of Community Development, Maine Department of Economic and Community Development.
