Bernadette Rodrigue

BENTON – Bernadette Rodrigue, 73, of Benton, Maine, passed away peacefully on Sept. 29, 2023, at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Waterville. She was born in Fort Kent, Maine on March 16, 1950, the daughter of (deceased) Fred Plourde and Anna Beaulieu) Plourde.

Bernadette married John Rodrigue in 1967. She was the mother of Michael Rodrigue (son), and grandmother of Marshall (grandson) and MacKenzie (granddaughter).

Bernadette was employed at Hathaway Shirt Factory, Hawaiian Paradise Restaurant, Dorr’s Bakery, and was then the owner of Memere’s Baked Goods.

Bernadette was predeceased by her brothers, Louis, Edmund, Wilfrid, and Normand Plourde, as well as her sisters, Theresa Voisine & Jacqueline Lajoie. Bernadette leaves her siblings to mourn her, Leopaul Plourde and his wife, Dora of New Britain, Mary Oakes of Newington, and her very special brother Elmer Plourde of Winslow. She also leaves all her special nieces and nephews, friends, and Casey (daughter-in-law) whom she loved so much.

Bernadette loved to bake, her gardening, sitting on the swing with a cup of coffee listening to the birds, making puzzles, and playing cards with family.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Oak Grove Nursing Home and Beacon Hospice Care for the exceptional care and compassion that they shared with her.

There will be no funeral services at the funeral home or church. A private burial will be held at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
