Indi Backman, Falmouth: Backman rushed for touchdowns of 31 and 14 yards and ran for a 2-point conversion late in the game as the Navigators earned their first win of the season, 21-12 over Mt. Blue.
Sam Dube, Messalonskee: Dube gained 181 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Eagles in their 41-14 victory over Edward Little.
Wes Piper, Greely: Piper scored two touchdowns, one on a 51-yard run, as the Rangers upset previously unbeaten Yarmouth, 12-8, in an eight-man Large School contest.
Aaron Reed, Medomak Valley: Reed rushed for four touchdowns – the final one providing the go-ahead points with 27 seconds remaining – as the Panthers edged Cape Elizabeth, 26-22.
Carter Rivers, Winthrop/Monmouth/Hall-Dale: Rivers, finally healthy, carried the ball 23 times for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including a 76-yard run, as the Ramblers overpowered Poland, 28-8.
Gunnar Saunders, Fryeburg Academy: Saunders scored two touchdowns and gained 136 yards on 13 carries – all in the first half – as the Raiders improved to 5-1 with a 43-6 win at York.
Owen Smith, Dirigo: Smith, a sophomore, scored three long touchdowns – 85- and 75-yard kick returns and a 60-yard run – in Dirigo’s 50-16 win over Mount View.
Hunter Tardiff, Oxford Hills: Tardiff turned a screen pass into the tying 24-yard touchdown and racked up 100 yards on 16 carries in the Vikings’ 21-14 overtime win over Bonny Eagle.
