I’m a fairly new resident of Hallowell, drawn here by the city’s inclusive spirit. That’s also why I wholeheartedly endorse Maureen AuCoin for mayor. Her commitment to safeguarding Hallowell’s unique character while adapting to present-day challenges is precisely what our city needs.

In today’s turbulent times, we need leadership with lived experiences in supporting “the little guys.” In seven years on City Council, Maureen helped steer a downtown revitalization roadmap; expanded affordable rentals without adding tax burdens, chaired the Finance committee to fiscally responsible decisions, and found grants to support businesses during COVID. Maureen is an unwavering advocate for Hallowell’s creative community and for diversity in government, as evidenced in her work with Hallowell Pride and Equality Maine.

With Maureen at the helm, I’m confident Hallowell will beautifully blend its rich past with a progressive future. Let’s support a leader who embodies the heart and soul of our community.
