WAYNE — An Augusta woman died following a crash in Wayne either late Thursday or early Friday, according to officials.
Shannon Moss, public information officer for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said it appears Taylor Perkins, 31, was driving on Main Street when her vehicle left the road, resulting in the fatal crash.
The vehicle was discovered by a passerby, who called 911 shortly after 8 a.m. Friday.
Main Street in Wayne is also Route 133. The stretch of road where the crash occurred is heavily wooded.
Moss said no other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
