FARMINGDALE — An 81-year-old woman was found unharmed Sunday evening after a Silver Alert had been issued just a few hours earlier.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said just after 6 p.m. that Barbara Loken of Farmingdale “has been safely located.”

The Kennebec County Sherriff’s Office said in a news release around 3:30 p.m. through the Maine State Police that Loken had last been seen Sunday at 9:45 a.m. when she left her house on Bowman Street for church on Hasson Street.

According to Google Maps, the two streets are 2.3 miles apart, or a four minute drive.

Police said Loken suffers from cognitive issues.
