Graham Francis Brown
CHELSEA – Graham Francis Brown, 87, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.
He was born in Augusta on Aug. 30, 1936, the son of the late Milton R. and Theresa A. (Bishop) Brown. Mr. Brown was educated in Augusta, graduating in the class of 1954 from Cony High. He started working part-time during the last two years of high school for the Gannett Publishing Co., which was sold to the McCarthy Printing Co. of Augusta, where he retired from in 1997.
Graham was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, which later became St. Michael Parish, was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph’s Church in Gardiner, and volunteered at the Augusta Food Bank.
He was predeceased by his sister, Evelyn McLellan and brothers Walter and John Brown.
Graham is survived by his wife of 65 years, Renita M. “Dee-Dee” (Crimmins) Brown of Chelsea; his children, son, Barry; a daughter, Barbara Paulhus and husband Mark, and their children Matthew, Sarah and Nathan; a daughter, Sharon O’Riordon and husband John, and their children Justin and Ryan.
At Mr. Brown’s request, there will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church on Western Ave. in Augusta. Burial will be held in the spring in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manchester.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
