GARDINER — Merrick Smith had 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Messalonskee boys basketball team defeated Gardiner 54-40 in KVAC action on Thursday night.
Drake Brunelle and Sam Dube added 11 points apiece for the Eagles (3-1), who led 34-18 at halftime.
Brady Atwater scored 10 points for Gardiner (1-3).
FOREST HILLS 65, BUCKFIELD 52: Blaine Nadeau and Cooper Daigle combined to score more than half of the Tigers’ points, tallying 22 each, in their win in Jackman.
Also for Forest Hills (5-0), Braden Welch contributed seven points and Jaxson Desjardins finished with six points.
Krosby Harvey scored 18 points for Buckfield (2-2), and was followed Brayden Monto with 15 points.
MEDOMAK VALLEY 74, MOUNT VIEW 43: Cory Donlin recorded 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Panthers in Waldoboro.
Medomak (3-1) also go 13 points from Gabe Lash and 11 from Kristian Schumann.
Ben Osbourne scored 13 points for Mount View (3-1).
