Jane P. Reny

BURNHAM – Jane P. Reny passed at Inland Hospital on Feb. 13, 2024. She was born April 1, 1946, in Burnham, Maine to Wilfred D. Patterson and Thelma (Dangler) Patterson. She attended Burnham Schools and graduated from Unity High School.

Jane graduated from the License Practical Nurse Program at Sisters Hospital and began her nursing career. From the beginning, her giving heart and love for people showed she had chosen the right career. During the years she worked at Thayer Hospital, Oak Grove Nursing Home, Togus Veterans Hospital and in Private Duty Care before retirement.

She was married to James Reny on July 5, 1986, at Saint Francis Church in Waterville, Maine. She remained a loving and caring wife and mother.

She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Some of her greatest memories were gatherings at her beloved lakeside home. The more the merrier was always her philosophy. Her perfect day would be a yard full of people enjoying the sun, boat rides and a barbeque.

She also enjoyed travelling with her loving husband, accompanying him on several trips around the country as well as to France and Finland. She enjoyed sewing and sharing her hand made creations with friends and family.

She is survived by husband James Reny; stepchildren Judith (Layne) Witherell, Jeffrey Reny, and Jennessa (Rick) Reny Littlefield; grandson Brandon Reny; sister-in-law Jean Ouellette; aunt Margaret Rusin; siblings Rosemary (Robert) Overlock, Suzanne (Allen) Hewins, Freeman Patterson; nieces and nephews Mark Overlock, Cheryl Nichols, Loretta Nichols, Sara Hewins, Beth Hewins, Tom Hewins, Freeman Patterson III, Stacy Patterson, Scott Patterson, Jeffrey Patterson and Laurie Dunn; and grand nieces and nephews.

Jane was predeceased by her father Wilfred Patterson and mother Thelma Patterson; bothers Darrell Patterson and Jack Patterson; niece Amanda Patterson, nephew Troy Patterson; father-in-law Jerome Reny, mother-in-law Doris Reny; brother-in-law Raymond Ouellette; and aunts and uncles.

Special thanks to Amy Kuhl, DO for the wonderful care she provided, her understanding and friendship. An additional thank you to Irene Cole, home care provider, who always brought a ray of sunshine to Jane, provided exceptional care, companionship and friendship.
