Dorothy Yvette (Beaulieu) Bonenfan
AUGUSTA – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Yvette (Beaulieu) Bonenfant, age 89. Dorothy passed away on Feb. 9, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Augusta on April 15, 1934, to Patrick and Florence (Bellevance) Beaulieu.
Dorothy attended Augusta and Sidney schools, graduating from Cony High School in 1953. She married her soulmate, Richard Bonenfant on June 18, 1955, and they shared 68 wonderful years together. In the early years, they lived in California where their oldest daughter was born, then Connecticut where their second daughter was born. After living in California for about ten years, they moved back to Maine where they made their home in Augusta, then Sidney where they lived for over 40 years before moving back to Augusta.
Dorothy worked for Medical Care Development, Maine Dartmouth Family Practice and the Children’s Center. She was a Cursillista and belonged to the Augusta Emblem Club and volunteered at St. Paul’s Center. After retiring, they wintered in Florida for about 12 years.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Norman and Albert Beaulieu, brothers-in-law, Steve Brawn and Edward Wilkins and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Edward and Dorothy Bonenfant.
She is survived by her husband Richard Bonenfant; daughter LeeAnn Lizotte Trask and husband Vinnie, daughter Diane Campbell and husband Bob; sisters Alice Wilkins, Doris Lyons and husband Mike, Patricia Brawn, and sister-in-law Rita Beaulieu. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Patrick and Nicholas Lizotte and Gerry Campbell; great grandchildren, Alexis, Nathan, Dawson and Bruce; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Feb. 29, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, 75 Northern Avenue, Augusta. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Augusta Elks Lodge, 397 Civic Center Drive. Burial will be at a later date.
