River Arts in Damariscotta has announced an opportunity for artists to participate in an upcoming members show.
All members can submit one piece for this non-juried exhibition. The deadline for entries is 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
The show will run from Tuesday, May 21, through Saturday, June 29. The gallery is located at 36 Elm St.
A gala opening reception is set for 1-4 p.m. Saturday, May 25.

The members show celebrates the talent of River Arts’ artists and showcases the wide range of art being created in Maine. River Arts welcomes all media, including painting, sculpture, fiber, photography, ceramics, original print making, drawing, encaustic and pastel.
Works may be representational or abstract. The show offers an opportunity for artists to submit work for a salon style exhibition.
All submitted works must be for sale; River Arts retains 35% commission on sold works. Entry and membership forms are available at the gallery or at riverartsme.org.
Artists may submit one piece measuring no larger than 30 inches in height or width, including frame.
There is no entry fee for participating in the members show.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
