Richard Paul Morrow

HALLOWELL – Richard Paul Morrow, 73, passed away on May 27, 2024 at Hillside Terrace in Hallowell. He was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine on June 9, 1950, the son of Frederick J., Sr. and Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Brayson) Morrow.

Rick graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in the class of 1968. He went on to further his education, earning a Bachelor’s degree from St. Francis College. Following school, he worked for the State of Maine. For 25 years he worked for the Department of Health and Human Services where he was well-respected and his experience was valued by many.

Rick enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to have traveled for both work and pleasure. He was a well-loved face of Hallowell and for over 30 years enjoyed Saturday night card games with a close group of friends. Rick served as a volunteer at the Hallowell Food Bank and was a member of the Old Hallowell Day Committee.

Rick will be remembered as a friendly and generous person who was a comfort to many.

He was predeceased by his parents, and brother-in-law, Tom Richardson.

Rick is survived by his siblings, Mary J. Richardson and her husband Wally, Alfred J. Morrow and his wife Jean, Susan Young and her partner Art Day, his sister Brenda Richardson, his brother Frederick J. Morrow, Jr.; his best friend of 39 years, William “Bill” Haley. in addition, Rick is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2024 at The Maine House, 119 Water Street in downtown Hallowell. Burial will take place at the family plot in Fort Fairfield at a later date.
