Robert Conrad Engdahl

WINTHROP – Robert Conrad Engdahl, of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024. He was 79 years old.

Robert was born on Dec. 9, 1944, in Dedham, Mass. He graduated from Norfolk County Agricultural High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army, where he was assigned to care for the army mules at West Point.

As a young man, Robert lived and worked as an artist at Fenway Studios in Boston. He was a man of many artistic talents, excelling as a painter, letterpress printer, printmaker, and photographer throughout his life.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Robert was a skilled carpenter and timber framer, building and restoring many homes and barns around Maine. He also worked as a federal food safety inspector for more than twenty years.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Otto and Doris Engdahl; sister Viola, brother Otto, niece Kim; and nephew David.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia; daughter Shelley, son Ian, daughter-in-law Alyssa; brother John, and sisters Edna and Marsha.

A visitation will be held at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, followed by a service 2:00 p.m.
