George E. Libby
BOWDOINHAM – George E. Libby, 88, passed away on June 29, 2024 after a brief illness with family by his side.
He was born in Portland on Oct. 12, 1935, the son of Irvin and Marion Libby.
George worked for many years as a grounds foreman for Bowdoin College.
He enjoyed going to fairs, working cattle, anything outside and particularly time spent with family.
George was predeceased by his parents; wife, Darlene Libby; children George Libby Jr., and Tammy Dershem.
He survived by daughters Melinda Burrell and husband Stewart of Bowdoinham, Hope Libby of Augusta, Heather Ruona of Richmond; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 7 at 2 p.m. at the Bay View Cemetery, Bowdoinham.
Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St., Richmond, ME 04357.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CHANS Hospice or Meals on Wheels.
