We have had what I call amazing success in rolling out solar power. My son, a community college electrician’s course graduate, benefited greatly from getting in on the ground floor of this industry, and I foresee that happening for the generation coming through now for offshore wind.

My own town struggled to set rules around the fields of solar panels and now hosts at least three such sites. Meanwhile, the field has matured and my son is earning a six-digit income, thank you very much. We have significantly reduced our reliance on fossil fuels with more to come.

Additionally, we are finding that one man can reasonably repair and maintain quite a number of fields. And no fossil fuel emissions except in the manufacturing of panels.

All that will require wrestling through the morass of lifecycle carbon costs. Let’s do it, and do it for wind power, too!
