Sharon Lavigne
NORRIDGEWOCK – Sharon Lavigne, 62, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024. Sharon was born in Westbrook on April 18, 1962, daughter of Ann Francis (Merry) and Linwood Melvin Varney Sr. She attended Westbrook schools before joining the U.S. Army.
Sharon worked as a CNA for many years and at T-Mobile where she made many close friends and family. She loved to craft in many ways; she crocheted, knit, quilted, loved to paint, and so much more. She created a family wherever she was. She was widely known as ‘Mummah.’ Sharon was kind and generous to everyone she met.
She was predeceased by her parents, Linwood and Ann Varney, husband Robert Lavigne, brother Linwood Varney Jr., and children, Dustin Taylor and Guy Lavigne.
Sharon is survived by her children, Steven Lavigne, Misty and Ryan Mellor, Travis and Crystal Taylor, Nicholas and Jocelyn Taylor, Benjamin and Jess Taylor, Crystal and Harry Jensen, Sean Taylor and Sierra Morin, and Sarah and Isaac Witham; 37 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister Debra Emerson; many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and also special extended family, Brian and Jody Bean, Sarah Bean, Christopher McEachern, and Corey Bean.
The family would like to thank the Redington-Fairview Oncology Unit for their dedication and kindness to Sharon these last five years through her battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
