MANCHESTER – Debra J. Sinclair, 70, passed away on Sunday August 25, 2024, with her loving daughter and husband at her side. Debra was born in Gardiner on Nov. 6, 1953, to Robert Leigh Hopkins and the late Christena Muriam Hopkins.
Debra married Robert, Bob Sinclair on Nov, 9, 1973. Debra graduated from Winthrop High School in 1972. Following high school, she went on to receive her License of Practical Nursing at the Maine School of Practical Nursing in Waterville in 1973. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for 50 years. She started her nursing career at Gardiner General. She then went on to work for Maine General, Augusta Family Medicine, Togus Veterans Hospital and Winthrop Family Medicine.
In her free time, she deeply enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren River and Henry; watching them participate in their various activities from dance recitals to baseball games. She loved to knit, quilt, bake, go antiquing, travel New England, and tend to her farm animals. She was a huge animal lover. A true homesteader at heart, Debra enjoyed learning the process of how things were made and doing it herself. She was a true hobby farmer.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her father Robert Hopkins and his wife Jackie; her daughter Kristen Davis, her husband Neil and their son Henry; Jodi Kushik-Sinclair; Michael Symber and their daughter River; and Matthew Sinclair.
Debra was predeceased by her mother, Christena Hopkins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dohner and the nursing staff at the Comfort and Care Unit at Glenridge for their kindness and care.
Per Debra’s request, there will be a private family gathering held at Manchester Forks Cemetery.
