I’m writing to express my strong support for Marcus Emerson as west Augusta’s next state representative. As a 20-year Marine Corps veteran, Marcus has proven leadership skills that are desperately needed in our government. His experience in navigating state and local government, along with his commitment to public service, make him the ideal candidate for this position.
Marcus’s platform of fiscal control, advocating for no new taxes, is crucial in these challenging economic times. His support for affordable housing through reducing regulations will promote much-needed economic and housing development in our community. Moreover, his dedication to public safety and better education highlights his understanding of the core issues affecting all of us in Maine.
We need a leader like Marcus who will bring common-sense solutions and a pragmatic approach to the challenges we face. I urge my fellow residents to vote for Marcus Emerson on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
