Maxine graduated from Madison High School in 1948 and married Douglas Hoskins on Oct. 14, 1951. Together, they moved into their new home in Madison, where Maxine lived for the next 73 years.

Maxine was an active member of her community, involved in the Madison Women’s Club, the Minerva Chapter of the Eastern Star, several local granges, and the Madison Historical Society.
Maxine cherished the simple pleasures in life, enjoying rides with her husband, visits with friends at McDonald’s, fishing on Moosehead Lake, days spent at camp on Embden Pond, and knitting, quilting, shopping, Horse Races and celebrating Christmas with her family. She also loved traveling with her husband, exploring destinations such as England, Hawaii, Newfoundland, Canada, and the coast of Maine.
