Phippsburg firefighters and rescue personnel were responding to a report of person who had fallen off rocks near the shore.

The call was received at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, and it was not reported as a serious injury, authorities said.

Apparently, the person was trying to rescue a dog that had become stuck on a ledge near Small Point, they said.

No more information was immediately available.
