Pauline E Coro
ATHENS – Pauline E Coro, 91, of Athens, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, at Tissues Country Estates; surrounded by her family, and special friend Romeo the cat.
Pauline was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Cornville, Maine, daughter of the late Richard and Marion (Demo) Hayden.
She married the love of her life, Raymond Coro, on Nov. 17, 1951. They shared 64 years together and raised six children in the home they built in Madison. They also cared for many foster children throughout the years.
Pauline worked at Dexter Shoe and Kennebec Apothecary. She also provided child care services in her home for many years and was involved with the Girl Scouts.
Pauline enjoyed working her plastic craft, playing the organ and accordion, puzzles, card games and bingo.
She loved long car rides, eating out (especially if it involved a trip to the Ice Cream Shoppe) and family gatherings.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, grandsons Eric and Matthew Coro, brothers Joseph and Carlton Hayden, and sisters Ethel McQuilkin and Arline Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Michael and husband Randy Boivin, Joline and husband Neal Richards, Darrell and wife Deanna, Raejean and husband Dan Luce, Sandra Hill, and Michelle and husband Jeff Willis; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; and special friends at Tissues.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation and eternal gratitude to the staff at Tissues and Maine General Hospice for the loving care they provided.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, Park St, Madison, Maine. Pastor Valmont Vigue will be officiating. There will be a gathering at Crossroads Bible Church, Madison, Maine, after for a time of fellowship.
