Kurt Peterson
GUAM – Kurt Peterson, formerly of Sidney, passed away in Guam on Sept. 13, 2024, from medical complications. Kurt was born to the late William Peterson Jr and Jane Peterson
Kurt was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and a good friend to many.
Kurt was a 1980 graduate of Winthrop High School and a 1984 graduate of Maine Maritime and fulfilled his life’s dream sailing around the world before settling in Guam. Kurt was well known in the maritime industry and worked there until his passing. Kurt made many friends in his adventures traveling around the world.
Kurt is survived by his wife, Rose; their daughters Kaia and Keona, who reside in Guam and by his daughter, Melanie and son, Clinton and their mother Jayne Peterson who live in Maine. Kurt is also survived by his mother, Jane, Michael and Dawn Peterson, Karen and Michael Charest, Bill and Patricia Peterson, Sonja Kalloch; grandchildren Karlei, Braylee, AJ, Xavier, Robert, and Caitlin; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews survive Kurt.
Kurt was predeceased by his father Bill, Uncle Ted; both sets of grandparents; and a nephew, Ben.
All will sadly miss Kurt.
A celebration of Kurt’s life has been held in Guam.
