Nathalie E. Boulanger
PITTSFIELD/SKOWHEGAN – Nathalie E. Boulanger, 93, passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2024, at Cedar Ridge Center in Skowhegan. She was born on July 14, 1931, in St. Albans, a daughter of Charles and Althea (Merrow) Estes.
Nathalie graduated from Hartland Academy, Class of 1949 and Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing in Lewiston, Class of 1952. She served as a registered nurse at Scott-Webb Memorial Hospital in Hartland, Sister’s Hospital in Waterville, Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield, Tucson Medical Center in Arizona and Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan.
Nathalie devoted her life to her family and to her career as a Registered Nurse. She also loved babysitting for her children and grandchildren’s families. She was known by all as “Mammy.” Her favorite pastime was watching her two favorite Boston Teams: the Red Sox and the Celtics, she could name all of the players on the teams and their stats! Mammy was passionate about attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed knitting and loved her cats!
She is survived by her sister Marilyn Butler; three sons, Jeff Boulanger and wife Laurie, Rene Boulanger, Randy Boulanger and significant other Kim; daughter, Paula and Gregory Dore; 12 grandchildren, Aaron Boulanger, Brooke and husband Pat Lord, Craig and wife Jennifer Dore, Eric Dore, Patrick and Erin Dore, Joshua Dore, Benjamin and wife Christen Dore, Joseph Basler, Danny Basler, Michael Godfrey, Isaac Boulanger, Ashley Pence and husband Nick; 22 great grandchildren, Megan Vashon, Lindsey Caret, Britney Dore, Keira Dore, Kaylee Dore, Lily Dore, Leah Dore, Maxwell Dore, Finley Dore, Marley Dore, Bentley Dore, Oliver Dore, Cassie Mariano, Jayde Boulanger, Ridley Lord, Calvin Lord, Tanner Godfrey, Landon Godfrey, Calum Godfrey, Tyler Basler, Jai Basler, Otto Basler, Boregard Boulanger, Collette Boulanger, Aubrey White, Garrett White; four great great grandchildren, Althea Vashon, Rhett Vashon and Michael Boulanger; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Nathalie was predeceased by her husband, Jean Paul Boulanger in 2001; her brothers, Daniel Estes of St. Albans, Robert Estes of Hartland, Dana Estes of Colorado, sister, Barbara Welch of St. Albans, sisters-in-law Barbara Estes of St. Albans and Laquata Estes of Denver, Colo., brother-in-law Richard Butler of Hartland; daughter-in-law Diane (Perkins) Boulanger of Skowhegan; and grandson Joshua Boulanger.
Friends and family may call from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, with Chaplain Eric Lovejoy officiating. Burial will be held at St. Albans Village Cemetery, immediately following.
