VASSALBORO — The Vassalboro Public Library is set to sponsor two performances of “Murder by the Book” at the Vassalboro Grange, 353 Main St. at the Vassalboro Grange, 353 Main St.

The first performance is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, and a 2 p.m. matinee is planned for Sunday, Oct. 20,

The play, a fundraiser for the library, will showcase Vassalboro actors as well as members of the Waterville Creates community. The play was written by Canadian playwright Laura Teasdale and is inspired by the books of Louise Penny which feature the investigator Armand Gamache.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $2 for children and can be purchased at the door or from the library beforehand. There will be refreshments and baked goods available for this fundraiser.
