The steeple on the 36-year-old Vassalboro United Methodist Church was removed Thursday by Burke Roofing of West Gardiner. Leaking caused water damage in several areas of the roof decking and the steeple. The steeple was saved and will be added to the church memorial garden at a later time. Dale Clark photo
