Evangeline A. “Jackie” Lessard

AUGUSTA – Evangeline A. “Jackie” Lessard, 79, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at her home following a brief illness. She was born in Gardiner on Jan. 30, 1945, a daughter of the late Stanley and Connie (Dyer) Jackson.

Mrs. Lessard attended Gardiner area schools and was a member of Penney Memorial United Baptist Church for many years.

She had been employed by the State of Maine, Department of Labor for over 25 years.

Mrs. Lessard was a member of the Calumet Club, a Deacon at her Church, volunteered at the Augusta Food Bank and Maine General Medical Center and was a former member of the Spirit of Augusta Board.

She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Jackson, her sister, Kelley Jackson Guerette; and a great-grandchild, Emery Grace Lessard.

Mrs. Lessard is survived by her husband of 57 years, Roger W. Lessard of Augusta; two sons, James Lessard and his significant other Robin Jackson of Sidney and Scott Lessard and his wife Lisa of Augusta; a brother, Jack Teehee of Woodbury, Tenn., a sister, Marie Greenly and her husband Glen of Bow, N.H.; grandchildren, Michael Lessard and his wife, Andrea, Nathan Lessard and his significant other, Brittany and Jacob Lessard and his wife, Amanda; three great-grandchildren, people who were like sons to her, Scott Bennett, his wife Amy and their children Patrick Bennett and significant other, Jeralyn Johnson; Abby and Dustin Wallace, their daughter, Zoey; as well as Robert Flanery; her former daughter-in-law, Liz Martin; her brother-in-law, Richard Guerette; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wants to thank the paramedics, Bosse Mason, Dr. Taylor Kelin and Beacon Hospice and Staff. Also, many thanks to Robin Patterson RN, Pat and Linda Dostie, Marion Lacasse and Julie Doirion.

Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, Oct. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
