Henry G. Lapointe
AUGUSTA – Henry G. Lapointe, 89, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 at home after a brief illness. Henry was born in Augusta on Oct. 3, 1935, a son of the late Wilfred and Alexina “Alcee” (Campeau) Lapointe.
Henry worked for Bernard’s Super Market and for the Maine Department of Transportation in Augusta. He also worked for several years at the Gardiner Shoe Company.
Henry was a great person, he loved going out to eat with family and friends. He loved watching Hallmark and Lifetime along with “Price is Right” on TV. He was a happy person always laughing, smiling and such an easy-going person.
He was a lifetime member of Le Club Calumet and was a member of Abnaki Council #334 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus and Abnaki Assembly #346 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Henry was predeceased by his siblings Armand, Robert, Romeo, Maurice, Roland, Normand, Florence Beaudoin, Alcea Lavallee, Rita Chapman, Arlene LaHaye, and Joanne Lapointe.
He is survived by one sister, Therese LaRochelle; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Jerry Guzman who lived and cared for Henry for over 10 years, to Terry Pelletier who took wonderful care of him on the weekends, and to MaineGeneral Hospice for their great care.
Visiting hours for Henry will be Thursday, Oct. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Western Ave., Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in the family lot at Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Augusta.
