Q&A
1) Define what “success” would look like if you are elected to serve your district.
My Legislative District is a near even combination of Republicans, Dems, and Independents who work side by side in Small Business, Recreational Tourism, and Forestry. Success is – all of my constituents and all the residents of our great state being able to live a comfortable and prosperous life. I fight, on a day to day basis, to get the Government (both Maine and Federal) out of our lives and to make them follow the law.
2) Name one issue the Legislature handled last session. Explain why you agree or disagree with the final outcome..
The Electric Vehicle (EV) mandate. I took the lead on this invasive issue and spent 6 months working to kill it, including working with the DEP, Maine Auto Dealers Assn, Board of Environment Protection, and my colleagues on the ENR committee, and I brought forward a bipartisan bill to change the language in law and ensure the same tactics are not used again. It passed unopposed in committee and on the floor. If you want an EV, buy one, but nobody should be forced to.
OPPONENT: Tiffany Bond, I-Rangeley

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
