Margaret Jean Bouthot

MOUNT VERNON – In the early morning of Oct. 13, 2024, Margaret “Peggy” Bouthot, at 85 years of age, passed peacefully from her temporary abode to her permanent heavenly home to the welcoming arms of Jesus her Savior.

Peggy was born on Jan. 27, 1939, and lived most of her life in Readfield and Mount Vernon. She attended local schools and graduated from Kents Hill High School in 1957. She was a lifelong member of the Dunn’s Corner Baptist Church.

In 1965, she met Vernon Bouthot and they were married in 1966 for a lasting relationship of 58 years.

Her greatest loves were for God, family and her job as a CNA. Every family gathering produced an abundance of “I Love You’s” for everyone.

Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Gene and Cora Pinkham; brother John Pinkham and his wife Josie, sister Ruth Fortune, sister-in-law Isabel Pinkham, brother-in-law Darlton Bouthot; son-in-law Jesse Sirois; and two grandchildren, Alex Veilleux and Lindsay Bouthot.

She is survived by husband Vernon Bouthot; daughters Heidi Gould and husband Tony, Beth Sirois, Lisa Veilleux and husband John, Lynda Churchill and husband James and favorite son Keith Bouthot; brother George Pinkham, brother-in-law Thomas Fortune, sister-in-law Karen Bouthot; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the Dunn’s Corner Baptist Church, 238 Wings Mills Road in Mount Vernon on Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. A private family burial is planned for the spring.
