Jim Hightower had it right when he observed, “Politics is not left versus right; it’s top versus bottom.” We in the bottom to middle should vote yes on question 1, in order to reduce impact that billionaires, corporations and their PACs have on lobbying and spreading misinformation.
According to www.citizenstoendsuperpacs.org, Question 1 would “Limit Contributions ($5,000) to Political Action Committees That Make Independent Expenditures.”
Tired of ads designed to stir up fear, anger and division between Republicans and Democrats that hide real issues about top versus bottom? Upset that ads are paid for by profits from overcharging you? Concerned that billionaires have more influence in elections than you? Disturbed that they use this to maintain their tax breaks and loopholes? Curious about how foreign entities can fund misinformation? Aware that in 2022 alone, billionaires funneled more than $23 million into Maine’s 2nd Congressional District? If yes, vote yes on 1.
