Helen Rebecca Rines
PITTSTON – Helen Rebecca Rines, 90, of Pittston, passed away on Nov. 9, 2024. Born on Feb. 18, 1934, Helen devoted her life to her family and community, leaving a legacy of love and kindness.
Helen’s life was marked by her nurturing spirit. After working at a shoe shop in Gardiner, she chose to become a full-time homemaker, a role she cherished deeply. In her home, the aroma of freshly baked lemon meringue pies an d other delicious treats often filled the air, a testament to her passion for cooking and baking. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her beautifully tended rose gardens, and she found joy in the quiet moments spent with a book or a crossword puzzle.
Alongside her husband, Robert, who predeceased her, Helen raised horses and enjoyed participating in agricultural fairs across Maine, often securing awards for their majestic draft horses. These activities brought great joy and fulfillment to her life.
Helen was a beloved mother to Donna Rines Dill and Gary Rines. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Rines, and other cherished family members. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Patricia, Kerri, Kevin, Shannon, Jaime, Nikki, Jenny, Daniel and Carly, and great-grandchildren, Robert, Allison, Benjamin, Kaleb, Rylee, Isaac, Caden and Haley, as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Helen has been cremated, and in accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services.
Helen’s kindness, warmth, and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
