Bettina Lynne (Conley) Knowlton
NORTH BERWICK – Bettina Lynne (Conley) Knowlton, 79, died Nov. 23, 2024, at Pinnacle Health and Rehab in North Berwick, Maine. She was born Feb. 6, 1945, in Presque Isle, Maine, the third child of Elwood H. and Frances (White) Conley.
In 1959, Tina moved to Atkinson, Maine with her family. She then attended Foxcroft Academy, in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. Over the years Tina lived with her former husband, Roger Knowlton, and her sons in many different places including Orono, Springfield, Mass., Liverpool, NY, and then settling in Winthrop, Maine. For many of those years Tina worked in the insurance industry, working for Allstate Insurance and other agencies. In 1998, Tina moved to Florida, settling in North Port. After she retired in 2007, she enjoyed time with friends, walking on the beach and volunteering at the North Port Library. In 2018, she moved to Kittery ME to be close to family.
Everyone that ever knew Tina knew how much she loved to read. She would read whenever she could, amassing large collections of books. She also loved cars and could tell you what most of them were. Many of her friends and family will remember the black Mazda RX7 and Acuras she drove for many years.
Tina is survived by her son, Jeffrey Knowlton and his wife Jane of Milton, NH, a daughter-in-law, Melissa Knowlton of Winthrop; three siblings, Michael Conley of Atkinson, Debra Cole of Dover-Foxcroft, and Peter Conley and his wife Sheri of Milo; four grandchildren, Justin Knowlton, Jessica Knowlton, Michael Knowlton, and Lauren (Knowlton) Swan; along with seven great grandchildren, Aiden Knowlton, Bennett and Graham Knowlton, Paula and Jaymie Gonzalez, Benjamin and Anderson Swan. She was predeceased by her youngest son, Jared Knowlton, and her oldest sister, Patricia Nickerson.
A graveside funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, in the North Atkinson Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Mello officiating.
