AUGUSTA – Dorothy M. “Dot” Higgins, 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was born in Augusta, Maine on July 16, 1942, daughter of the late Alfred J. and Rosa (Picard) Boucher.

Dot, the youngest of ten Boucher siblings, attended Augusta schools and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She had been employed for 18 years by Key Services, followed by employment at Walmart, Augusta Civic Center, the Cohen Center and Maple Hill Farms.

Dot was pre-deceased by her husband of 49 years, John W. Higgins, brothers: Richard Boucher, Raymond Boucher, and Robert Boucher, and sisters: Madeline Levesque, Lorraine Levesque, Gert Chase, Nancy Champagne, Martha St. Hilaire, and Connie Rodrigue.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra St. Amand and her husband Mark of Windsor, three grandchildren: Mark St. Amand, Jr. and his wife Heather, Melissa Gosselin and her husband Roman, and Jessica St. Amand; six great-grandchildren: Liam St. Amand, Ainslie St. Amand, Owen Gosselin, Easton Gosselin, Adelynne Jose and Alexis McCausland, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. Family and close friends may gather at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta on Friday, December 6, at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at Plummer Funeral Home.
