Joyce (Ellis) Partridge
AUGUSTA – Joyce (Ellis) Partridge, 87, passed away at her home with her husband by her side on Nov. 20, 2024. She was born on June 26, 1937, in Gardiner, to Theodore and Rena (Ladner) Ellis.
Joyce attended Augusta schools and graduated from Cony High School in 1955. She then worked for AT&T as a telephone operator. She married the love of her life, Charles Partridge Jr., in 1957 and they had 67 wonderful years together.
Joyce was a housewife and provided care and nurturing to many children in her in home daycare.
She loved camping at her favorite campground, Cathedral Pines in Eustis, where they would spend time every summer with family and friends. She also enjoyed going to lawn sales, thrift stores, flea markets and shopping for her grandkids.
Joyce had a great love for sports. She was a cheerleader in high school and became a cheerleader for her grandchildren. She was known as their “Number 1 Fan!”
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Mary McKenney, her brother, David Ellis; and her son, Scott E. Partridge.
She is survived by her husband, Charles M. Partridge Jr.; daughter, Cindy L. Partridge, and son, Charles “Chuck” M. Partridge III and his wife, Tina Partridge; grandchildren, Charles Partridge IV and Sydney Partridge; sisters Norma Hallett, Victoria Dort and Jean Bechard.
A private family service will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery on Mount Vernon Road in Augusta.
A heartfelt thanks to all the angels at hospice whose care for her in the last few weeks of her life provided great comfort to her and her family.
