GARDINER — Ryan Parent scored 17 points to lead the Messalonskee boys basketball team to a 61-55 victory over Gardiner in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game on Tuesday night.
Sean Achorn added 14 points for Messalonskee (2-0).
Brady Peacock led Gardiner (0-1) with 15 points and 7 rebounds.
MT. BLUE 80, CAMDEN HILLS 67: The Cougars (2-0) rode a 20-9 first quarter to a victory over the Windjammers (0-2) in Farmington.
Tyler Abell hit three 3-pointers and went 8 of 10 at the free-throw line to score a team-high 21 points for Mt. Blue. Carter Norton contributed 18 points, Nolan Leso scored 13 and Evan Drake (6 of 6 free throws) had 10 points.
Camden Hills’ Nolan Ames led all scorers with 38 points, which included four 3s and 16-of-16 free-throw shooting. Thomas Leadbetter added 13 points for Camden Hills.
LINCOLN ACADEMY 61, WINSLOW 53: Chase Coffin scored 13 points as the Eagles (2-0) beat the Black Raiders in Winslow.
Braden Rodrigue led Winslow with 25 points and 5 assists.
Brady Poulin also had 10 point for the Black Raiders (1-1).
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
GARDINER 57, MESSALONSKEE 54: Taryn Nichols scored 14 points as the Tigers (1-0) beat the Eagles in Messalonskee.
Addy Serber added 10 points for Gardiner.
Addy Welch led Messalonskee (0-2) with 21 points.
