James “Jamie” Raymond Schopmann
AUGUSTA – James “Jamie” Raymond Schopmann, 52, of Augusta, passed away on Nov. 27, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jamie was born on Aug. 11, 1972, in Hoboken, N.J., and later attended Gardiner Area High School. He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle who touched the lives of many with his kindness and warmth. An avid sports enthusiast, Jamie was a passionate supporter of all New England teams, sharing his love for the game with friends and family alike.
As a member of the Kennebec Valley Assembly of God, Jamie found strength in his faith and community. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jamie is survived by his step-father, Elwin L. Gero (Pittston, ME); brother, Robert V. Schopmann and his fiance Charity A. Rouse (Vassalboro), sister, Jean F. Schopmann (Windsor); step-siblings, Tim W. Gero and Doreen E. Gero, (Mt. Vernon). He also leaves behind five beloved nieces and nephews, Breann E. Schopmann (Tempe, Ariz.), Zachary V. Schopmann (Gilbert, Ariz.), Xavier J. Schopmann (Pittston), Samantha K. Harvey (Vassalboro), and Victoria N. Harvey (Vassalboro); as well as three great-nephews: Finn, Jacobey, and Callum.
Jamie was predeceased by his mother, Linda J. Gero, and father, Robert V. Schopmann Sr.
A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held on Jan. 4, at 2 p.m., at the Kennebec Valley Assembly of God, located at 44 Hallowell Rd. Chelsea ME 04330. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering Jamie’s life and the joy he brought to those around him.
For those wishing to honor Jamie’s memory with flowers, they may be sent directly to the church for the celebration.
Jamie’s kind heart and unwavering love for his family will be forever cherished in our memories.
May he rest in peace.
