DAMARISCOTTA — Registration for this year’s Knox Lincoln County Beekeepers Bee School is open.
The seven-week course is set for 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 25 to April 8, at the Damariscotta Assembly of God, 672 Main St. If inclement weather results in a cancellation, the class will extend for one week to April 15. Formal presentations will be followed by rotational hands on learning stations in break out rooms. Abundant time will be allowed for questions and answers.
The course, presented by experienced beekeepers from the Knox-Lincoln County Beekeepers and Maine’s state bee inspector, is designed for first and second year beekeepers. Beekeeping basics, equipment needs, seasonal management, honey bee diseases and pest management will be presented.
The $95 course fee includes a textbook, emailed handouts and a pro-rated yearly membership to KLCB.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
