Patricia M. Leavitt
AUGUSTA – Patricia M. Leavitt, 78, of Augusta, passed away peacefully on Feb. 26, 2025, after a year-long battle with cancer.
Pat was born Jan. 31, 1947 a daughter of Irene and Thomas Kanaris. She attended the Augusta school system until she began working at a young age at Hazzard Shoe Company. She later worked for the Kennebec Journal in the evenings as an inserter. Pat loved to read and watch horror movies and appreciated a good coffee and a sweet treat. She was known as the “cool aunt” by her nieces and nephews as she often “let it slide”. During her last few years, Pat enjoyed hanging out with her friends at her apartment building. She was a very sweet lady and will be sadly missed.
Pat is predeceased by her parents, Irene and Thomas Kanaris; brothers Richard and his wife Sadie, Robert and his wife Geneva, and sister-in-law Rita Kanaris; a niece, Marie Caron, a nephew David Kanaris; and her special friend, Dan Roy.
Pat is survived by her son, Jason Leavitt; her granddaughters, Gina Schultz and Gemma Pluckers; her brothers, Thomas Kanaris and Michael Kanaris; her aunt, Alice Morang; and several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Helen for her kindness and support to Pat in her time of need.
At Pat’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330. Condolences, stories and photos may be shared by visiting http://www.plummerfh.com.
