President Trump is terribly misinformed regarding tariffs. The reason American industries, factories and other enterprises have moved to foreign countries is due to the fact that labor costs are cheaper in those areas, resulting in lower costs on those products sold here at home. Warren Buffet, a financial wizard, described the implementation of tariffs as an “act of war.”
At ice hockey and soccer games between the United States and Canada, many Canadian fans boo when “The Star Spangled Banner” is performed. Many American fans have shown the same behavior when the Canadian national anthem is performed. Some products made in America are being removed from store shelves in Canada. Mexico and Canada are our closest neighbors and allies; to feel resentment is never a good thing.
We live in a world economy. We can’t even produce all the necessary components in some products made in foreign countries. If factories, industries and other enterprises return to America, our workers would expect higher wages, resulting in higher price tags on the items produced, costing all of us more money.
